There are six(?) pics of Prime Chance Greyhawks in the SEAL book, but they’re all b&w. As for OPC Greyhawks, I couldn’t find anything on them either. Even the reading material is vague at best.

Last night was spent adding some Eduard photo-etched goodies to the cockpit, I’ll take a pic and post it later on today when I get home from work. I hope to have the cockpit and troop area ready for paint this weekend. My big query right now is finding out what type of gun(s) the Israelis arm their Blackhawks with. I’m not sure if they use the same type found on other H-60/S-70 variants or if they arm them with indegenious made weapons. I’m hoping they carry 7.62 M134 Miniguns, as that would look tough. [:)]

Yup, that’s the shot I remember and that’s pretty close to the cropping I would have used (I would have pulled back a little, but that’s just me). Looks fine to me.

I started on mine last night, applying Eduard and Cobra Co. details. There’s not much I can do until I clean up my work bench. I’ll post some pix up this weekend.
At the moment I haven’t done as much as I would liked. I’m working in the cockpit, but I do not follow the same sequence as in the manual, so for me that is not step 4, but step 2.
I’ll post my first pics, somewhere during the weekend.

Here’s my first in-prog pic. I may remove the seat mounts and attempt to make new mounts from styrene rod, just have to get past my laziness. [:D] Seeing as the doors will be closed, I’m not sure if it will be worth it.

To the hawk-builders …
I don’t know if this is right for all the Hawk-variaties, but in the Academy-kit for the Pave-Hawk there are three antennas namely the vertical front of the gunners, the horizontal on the left tailboom, and the dish aft the rotor assembly.
The instructions say to install all three of the antennas but only one should be installed because in reality, they are just improvements, when they installed a new type, the older one was removed [:)]

I picked up Squadron’s UH-60 Walk Around yesterday, but haven’t had a chance to go thru it. Dan, Im not sure this is correct, at least as far as US Army 60s go. Im a hawk fixer in the Army and heres what I know. The gunners window antennae is the DF ant. and is on all hawks. The ant running the length of the tail cone is the HF ant and is being installed as an MWO on all the fleet and the"dish" ant on the APU doors is installed on some birds as required, so they all have different purposes and arent removed.

In the Block 152 USAF Pave Hawks, “The flush mounted VHF/FM antenna on the leading edge of the vertical tail was deleted along with the VHF/FM homing antennas located aft of the pilot and co-pilot’s doors (black vertical towel rack looking antenna). These were deleted due to the instalation of a new VHF-AM/FM whip antenna on top of the vertical tail, and is easily distinguishable due to the lack of black paint on the forward leading edge of the vertical fin (even though some of the fin leading edges are still painted black even when the antenna has been removed).”

I didn’t get much work done last weekend since it was a holiday here in the States. Tried to make up for it this past weekend. Pix are a little poor since I was borrowing a new digital camera and trying to work out the bugs in it.
-Aft view of cockpit. Dry fitting the aft console and seats. Seats, center and aft console are from the Cobra Company Pave Hawk detail kit. I’m going to have some trouble fitting the right seat’s collective. The black is Tamiya’s NATO black, which while not as light as Aircraft Interior Black, has a slight off-black tint to it and is slightly faded. It looks great on my 1/72 MH-101’s rotor blades There’s going to be a lot of dry-brushing in here too.
- Forward view of the same. I’ll paint/detail the seats, collective and consoles each individually before installing them. Space is tight and I’m wondering if my helicopter crew will fit inside. After I’m done up front, I’ll finish up the aft cabin.
- Interior Ceiling. I’ve begun detailing it with sheet styrene, strip styrene and Eduard’s photoetch details. Will cut out holes in some area of the top and box off those areas. Not sure if I’ll install wire clusters or not. Very complex area that I’m not looking forward to detailing but hopefully should be worth the effort.
- Tail Rotor. Basically this is assembled. There may be a few Eduard’s parts to install, but I’ll probably paint it this week.
- Main Rotor Head. Dry fit here, most assembly and some detailing completed. This is more complex than the tail rotor, but hope to have this done within the next week or two, including painting.
- Cowling, fore and aft. Installed Eduard’s details.
- Fuselage. Some photo-etched details
- Interior Fuel Tank. My first big mistake - the 210th RQS usually flies with only one of these installed, not both. Good news is, I can steal the parts from my DAP kit to make a single tank with.
I know I said that I’d post some pics, but i’m trying to complete my Hind before starting on the Pavehawk. If all goes well i should be done this week-end.
BTW next week i should get those [censored] ammo chutes I’ve been waiting for!
