He111 finished pics

Greetings fellers[#toast]

This is the 1/72 Hasegawa kit. No problems whatsoever were encountered with this build except attaching the tiny PE parts I used in the cockpit.[|(] The only gripe I have is the surface engraving is a little deep for this scale and wish I would have used a lighter wash. I admit it’s too stark in contrast and yes…over done. But, what’s done is done and I’m happy with the over all results. Nice little kit, excellent fit, zero filler, highly recommended.

Cheers[#toast]

Oh man, that is a beaut!! That forward cockpit looks like a nightmare to mask and paint!!! Nice work!!

holy moly how did you mask the canopy?[:O]

excellent job on the HE111! I need to pick that kit up. it looks awesome.

I just realized looking at this build that I have 0, zilch, nada German aircraft in my stash! I think its that mottle that most of them have that scares me[:O]

Thanks Eric…yes the greenhouse took a long time to mask[yuck] but I hacked my way thru it.

Jerry

Thanks alot…I use Scotch frosty tape and alot of patience for masking canopys. Works pretty good.

Eric…no mottle on this one. give it a go!

Jerry

I wouldn’t worry too much about the panel lines… it is a beautifully finished model.

Looks great! At first I thought it was 48 scale with the level of detail and paint job you did. That is amazing work in 1/72 scale. Makes me want to start on my 1/48 scale one in the closet. Great work!

Jerry, your work is stunning. I can;t imagine the manhours you must have poured into this. Very, very nice depcition of the 111. Personally I think your weathering adds to the scale effect and gives it more reaslism.

By chance, will this be entered in any competitions?

I have to agree with Phildirt that is a very nicely finished model for a 1/72 scale one, espcially keeping in mind how tiny the PE parts are.

I build a bf 109 with PE and it was terrible to work with!

Don’t worry about the deep panel lines, many people spent hours making them better and you got them “ready to go” with the kit[:D]

That was my thought when you posted this as a WIP, Jerry. It turned out amazing! Nicely done! [tup]

Very impressive work. Detail level is top notch.

Andy

Nice job. It looks great[tup]. I’ve seen that plane on the shelves and thought about getting it, but, the greenhouse canopy made me hesitate.

Most excellent work. Great job. I am not a 1/72 guy but if there were one kit in that scale I would get, it would be the He 111.

So let me ask this if I could. Who makes the best 1/48 scale He 111?

Thanks.

I see nothing wrong with the weathering or wash, it looks excellent. very realistic looking. the builder always sees his own errors, I do this alot myself.

That green house nose is the reason I don’t do alot of bombers. I hate painting canopies.

Thanks to everyone,

Ranger…I believe the Revell kit is all there is in 1/48. I’ve heard they’re a pain but I’ve seen them built up and they look excellent.

Thanks again guys,

Jerry

Thank you Mr. Fly.

[tup] Fabulous job on that -111. I wouldn’t call your weathering overdone, I’d call it superb. And having built the Monogram 1/48 -111 and griped the entire time masking that canopy, I can only imagine the patience you had to have to do that job in 1/72.

She shure is a perddy birddy, you did a great job.

very well done indeed. I do not think that its over done at all. I think you did a supurb job and I think you should be very happy with the way it turned out…
