He-111 V-1 Launcher (Minicraft 1/144 H-6)

Minicraft’s 1/144 He111-H6, with a minor conversion to the V-1 flying bomb-carrying H-22 configuration. The open dorsal gun position was filled and replaced with a fettled MG131 turret. The V-1 itself is a white-metal part from TINSOLDIERS.COM.

Markings are for a machine from III./KG3, operating from the Netherlands in 1944. The low-contrast color scheme reflects the tactic for which the Gruppe had been carefully trained: launching their V-1s against Allied targets by night from over the North Sea.

Nice, Greg, especially for the small scale.

Thanks, John! [B]

Wow I can’t believe that’s 1/144! Well done.

Nice paint job.

That looks as super as 1/48!

Looks sharp Greg! Love the camo!

I don’t do more bombers since I hate masking the greenhouse canopies. It’s bad enough in 1/48th- I can’t imagine the PITA it would be that small.

Thanks, guys!

It’s a scale I’ve always liked for its ‘compactness.’ I’m just glad ageing eyesight and manual dexterity are still cooperating! [:D]

(It’s also nice to see more modern manufacturers coming out with better-quality 1/144 kits than these old Crown versions. Of course…on the down side…the prices are more ‘modern’ as well…[:S])
