Hawker Hunter colors

Hi, I am building a 1/32 Revell Hawker Hunter, I seem to recall seeing some pictures of a Hunter in an all white paint scheme, does anyone know whether this was a paint scheme for Hunters in regular service ( like the all white Vulcans and Victors), or was the prototype Hunter an all white colored plane ? Thanks to all that can help!

The only White one I know of belongs to the Swiss Airforce
but heres one in RAF Markings Click Here
And another Picture Click Here

Heres the Swiss One Click Here

And I found the all white Prototype Click Here

Aah, at last, a proper Aeroplane!

The first Hunter, next to the DC-3 is in Central Flying School colours, the badge on the tail is the giveaway. I can’t access the second picture from here, the religious numties have blocked that site, so I can’t comment on it.

The Swiss ‘newsprint’ Hunter did at one time have a 1/72nd decal sheet available. If you want I can try to track it down.

The prototype, WB188, was in a very pale green, I’ve never seen a picture of it in white.

So far as I know, (and the Hunter is one of my favourite aircraft0 they weren’t painted all over white at all in RAF service. However, if you research 111 squadron, you will find that they flew a display team of Hunters in the 50’s which were all over black. And they look fabulous.

I have the 1/32nd Hunter in my to do pile, And it will be black, as a 111 sqn aircraft.

Another alternate scheme you may find if you search for Northern Lights. A team flying Hunters now in Canada. They have a two tone grey scheme, again it looks great.

Sorry Sean.

Pete
