I’m not sure what the proper term is, but I saw a review on the Badger Krome, and it has an adjuster that will stop the trigger. Seems like it might be useful. Have you used an AB with this feature? It is worth having?

The one place I thought I might like it is in pre-shading. I tend to start with a fine line with some degree of control, and then have times when I get too much flow and things get sloppy (even for pre-shading [:)])

My Iwata HP-B+ has the feature. I bought a pre-set handle for my HP-CS when I started airbrushing. However, although I’m no expert at airbrushing, I have never used it. I see why it is useful for 2D airbrushing, but IME it’s not useful when airbrushing models unless one can precisely maintain the same distance between the AB and curved surfaces of a model.

My Grex XG, Badger Sotar and H&S Evolution came with the ‘pre-set’ handles and I added one to my Iwata Revolution. I find them quite useful when doing fine lines to keep me from doing just what mgh describes. They do help in my unskilled hands for camo work as well. Necessary, no but sure nice to have for me.

How did you do that? Does Iwata make some sort of add-on to do this?

Iwata sells preset handles for Eclipse & Revolution. Check out major AB stores like Chicago and Coast.

Here’s a link to a source and pic of the one I bought. And as Chris says major AB suppliers should have them. Note that Iwata also sell a ‘triple action’ handle - I don’t like it as well as the one in the pic. HTH

I bought a triple action handle and immediately returned it. I hated it. Coast Airbrush has a regular one for $26.

I bought a triple action handle for my Iwata Eclipse and found it totally useless. Maybe I just don’t understand how to use it. I took it off and went back to the standard setup. Their instructions are worthless. $30 down the drain.

BearAir makes a preset handle for the Iwata Eclipse, which should also work for the revolution:

At half of the geniune Iwata part, it may be worth a try. I have not tried this one, but BearAir quality are usually very good.

Thanks for the responses. The triple action doesn’t seem like something I would want to try, but the pre-set might be. I’ll have to look around a little for it.
