Hasegawa replacement parts

I split the windscreen for a 1/48 F/A-18F Super Hornet. Anyone know how i can get a replacement part?

How big is the windscreen? If small, you can use Testors Clear Parts Cement and Window Maker. Here’s what the bottle said:

Squeeze some cement into a small bottle cap.Take a small brush handle, dip it into the cement and ease the handle around the window opening and then pull it out leaving a thin layer of film. This will dry as clear as glass.

Hase used to send replacement sprues for a nominal charge if they have them in stock.

The windscreen is a compound curve. You can use those clear parts glues only for creating flat pane type windows in small areas, perhaps 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch or so. It won’t work for a job like the windscreen. Yes it will glue the parts together, but the crack will be visible.

As far as getting a replacement part, try contacting Hasegawa. I am not sure who their importer/distributor is here in the US currently, or if the kit is currently in production and the part available. With the worldwide virus related work slowdowns and shutdowns, there may be an extended timespan for replacement, even if all is in order. Especially if their US importer/distributor is California based.

A few months ago the canopy from my Hasegawa kit managed to find it’s way to the floor without my noticing it. Sometime later I found it. It was still attached to the sprue, but at some point it got stepped on…

Crap, I’ve never lost a part or had to replace one.

So,

I was crushed…

A couple months later after jumping through many, many daily hoops I finally got on the forum here looking for some help.

They won’t help you. I found out the hard way, if you don’t live in Japan don’t bother.

Then along comes pawel to the rescue…
THANK YOU AGAIN PAWEL.

This was a Hasegawa kit so he referred me to EDUARD to resolve the problem.

Did some looking around and this is what I came up with:

go to support@eduard.com

First, set up an account with a name & password. No obligations. Below is the reply. It took about 3 or 4 weeks plus the ten days for shipping (shown below) and NO charges. Can’t complain since it was SO much better than nothing.

Petra was a real sweetheart about it and sent me the entire sprue.

Below is her initial reply. Just be honest and tell them what happened.
