Hasegawa Jagdpanzer IV photos

Here is a photo of my 1/72 scale Hasegawa Jagdpanzer IV L/48 ‘late edition’. I got the kit missing some parts on eBay. I scratched the missing pieces with some bits from the spare parts box and styrene. Tracks were badly detailed but I did not want to spend any money on a kit that was already incomplete.

It was a fun build and I gave winter white wash a try. I was not pleased with the kit decals and will probably replace them with some spares at a later date.

I bought a new camera today, but the batteries are still charging. I will post better pictures later.

looks good rob! The winter camo looks great!

nice job looks really good

Great job!

Looks great but very clean

Good looking little build. Was this an experiment in whitewash for you? I have yet to try it myself. How did you achieve yours? Those little tires must have been a pain.

Nice build and nice pictures Rob. You made an OK kit look really good.

This was my first try with a winter white wash. I painted the road wheels dunklegelb with gunship gray rubber before attaching to the hull. As I oversprayed the body flat white, the paint covered the road wheels just a little. I touched them up with some thinned gunship gray.

I gave the vehicle a heavy wash of earth brown and painted some spots dunklegelb where the white wash wore off. I used dust colored weathering powders to tone it down.

Nice little build. Maybe some more drybrushing around the edges and high parts with the base colour would be effective. The whitewash is done well, but maybe it’s the pics, there does not seem to be too much base colour showing through.

Nice build. Texture of white wash looks very convincing.

Very Nice Rob, but both sets of pics look the same to me (used the same names in the post did we?, Ha, Ha).

Did a great job on this one.

Rob, the jag looks great. I like how the rough texture of the model looks like actual armour.

Very nice work as usual Rob. I always enjoy seeing your builds. I just picked up the old ESCI Jagdpanzer IV to kit bash with the Revell PzKpfw IV. The ESCI kit is tolerable but I am wondering if I should go with the Hassagawa kit as an alternative. I don’t mind more surgical treatment on the kit; it’s a higher level of detail I am looking for. Also, the raised panel lines on the ESCI kit are a turn off. Did you apply the weld seams to the upper hull plates or were they already on the Hassagawa kit?

Good luck with the new camera.

Nice! A little gem, but I figured you’d only build British kits Rob!![}:)][:-,][;)]

I didn’t add anything to the kit except replace the missing parts and fill a couple of holes. I don’t know enough about the JP IV to be able to ID any missing weld lines.

I build whatever catches my eye, German, US, Soviet, UK, etc. This was a throw away kit I had in the pile. I thought I’d use it to give winter white wash a try. Nothing to lose but some paint.

rob, looking really good. lI really like what you did with the build!

Great work Rob.
The little 1/72 kit turned out beautifully.

Thanks, it was your SPG group build that got me building a jagdpanzer. Really nice little kit except Hasegawa needs to tool up some link & length tracks to replace the undetailed kit tracks. I didn’t post it in the GB thread since I don’t like trying to follow 40+ page threads.

Sorry Rob, a poor attempt at humor by referencing a post from another thread.Maybe the other “Minions” didn’t see the humor either. Sorry.[D)]
