This is a kit I'm pretty happy with. It is the Hasegawa F-106 in 1/72 scale. I bought the kit on EBay with no decals. I was able to find a decent set of decals that included this neat Michigan Air National Guard livery. The model was very intricate...for my skills...but went together beautifully. I did very little sanding, and everything fit exceedingly well.
The most difficult part for me was assembling the weapons bay. It's hard to see but the doors are open and the missile racks are extended. When I have enough forum posts to put more than one picture in a post I'll show you!
I spray-painted the kit light-grey on bottom and medium grey on top. I picked up a canopy mask kit which helped me a lot. I hand-painted the black anti-glare and radome. The Michigan ANG decals were beautiful! I wish every kit I build had decals this good! I recently picked up this kit's sister, the 1/72 Hasegawa F-102. I'm trying to find decals for the F-102 that is displayed at the Castle Air Museum in Atwater, CA. My Dad retired from the USAF there in 1974.
Looks good. Definitely waiting for more pictures. Century series planes seem to look faster than newer generations.
Thank you, and I agree. I used to watch the 106s at Anderson AFB on Guam and at Castle AFB in California. I’m not sure how ‘much’ I have to ‘do’ before I’m no longer a ‘new member’, but I’ll try to add photos soon.
I may be mistaken, but is that not one per post? Try making another post in this thread with an attached photo.

I had some forum-members ask to see some of my work. With the limitation of 1 picture per post, I created some posts that show some of my finished kits. I made another, but when I attempted to post it I was informed that ‘new members’ can only make 3 posts in a 24-hour period. I get why; to prevent spammers.
I will add some more finished kits tomorrow!
I suppose that’s to be expected. You’ll have member privileges before you know it.
Keep up the good work!
