I can’t resist anything with dayglo paint, so this was a no-brainer. The first model I ever attempted to airbrush was one of these,back in 1976, with a single action Badger airbrush. I sprayed so much gloss white paint that it was running off the model in streams, all over my mum’s kitchen table.
It’s actually quite a nice kit, it just needed a bit of a re-scribe, and the replacement of some aerials.
That’s a great-looking little model, and I especially like that last photo with the backdrop. It really gives it a sense of place.
I have to admit, I’d never even heard of the MU-2A before seeing your build, so the dayglo scheme sent me down a little research rabbit hole. I hadn’t realized the JASDF used it in the rescue role, essentially as the fast aircraft that could get to the scene ahead of the helicopter, help locate the people in trouble, and guide the rescue effort.
That makes the bright markings make a lot more sense. Thanks for introducing me to an airplane I knew absolutely nothing about.

That’s such a pretty little birdie! Japanese aircraft seem to be especially photogenic. Fun fact: MU-2s were built in Nagoya and Texas!
