I just purchased the Hasegawa Museum Fokker Dr1. The kit is exceptional for the most part, but I will be scratchbuilding a few pieces. Does any one know of a good refrence book for the Fokker? TIA
Ok Perhaps Thrilled by the HUGE BOX It could be easy to miss. It is a 1/8th Scale Kit !!! One of a Four Aircaft Series IF you include the 1/16 th Scale 1903 Wright Flyer.
To me these ARE the Pinnicle of Commerical Multi-Media Kits weather you are in to Aircraft OR NOT, weather OR NOT you are into WWI. This series was first released in the early eigthies. Think about that. Resin, Photo-Etch, After-Market Parts and Kits were just a thought then. It was the Begining of the modern era of Hobby Kits and accessoires we have today. Before that time this Kit has IT ALL. Plastic, rubber, metal cowlings, wood, brass, cord, wire, etc. ALL meticuliously like a CSI Crime scene cataloged and catorigized. This IS a Spectactulor HUGE Build. THIS is a Scale I can see complaing about running out of Shelf space to display them. This is a true classic and I hope for everyone they will eventually re-relese the other two Kits.
This Kit IS IN OF ITSELF THE Reference ON the Fokker DrI. Iam not exactly sure what you could possibly intend on Scratch building for yourself ? As far as I know it is ALL there ? I could be wrong. However to answer your request for Fokker DrI reference material.
If you have not been familar with WWI ACFT there is a Series of Refence books published with original photos, Detail photos where ever possible, cut away profile plans, and an anthology of the aircrafts developement and operational use. These are Called “Windsock Datafiles”. Source for them include a couple of publishers and their parent co albatross publications. They are often traded on ebay.
