Got the belly painted! I masked off the top, then masked off a few panels to spray primer white. The aelerons and elevators got primer grey. When the MM metallizer is sprayed over this, it changes the finish a bit. This way, you only have to spray one shade of NMF, and not have to worry about masking for other shades, or the mask pulling up the paint!

That’s my thought too. I think the boxart makes the plane look really cool. Having it done, it just looks like another boring Jap plane. It’s still pretty cool looking though, compared to the rest.
Having just attached the last bit, I got another tip for ya’ll. I used stretched sprue for the antenna wire. I CAed one end to the mast behind the pit and let that set. I used a liitle gob of poster tac to hold it in place at the tail attachment point. Once that’s set, a quick swipe of the blade, and it’s a thing of beauty!
Other finishing touches included a bit of pastels for the exaust and a bit general dirtiness.
Wow, dude…that is one of the coolest Japanese fighter schemes I’ve ever seen…that blue “V” on the spine is too cool for school—wonder what it means? Very nice looking bird…
