Hasegawa 1/48 Hurricane Mk I... (pics)

Nice clean build Rick I just got a look at it at old guard looks even better in person.

Hey Rick!

As I’ve come to expect from your work-- it’s a beauty. Meticulous as always.

Take care,

Mark

I’ll echo all of the above…
Someday…someday…I’ll be able to build like this.

Steve, Luftwaffe, Dragonfly, McHoot, Markworth, Wibhi2, Thanks for the kind words guys, muchly appreciated.

Steve, like weathering, enhanced panel lines are a matter of personal choice. Seems like most like them, but some don’t. I would agree that enhanced panel lines are out of scale, but to me a model looks more toy like without them.

Luftwaffe, McKnight was a medical student in Canada before he left & joined the RAF in 1939. The rather Bizzarre Skeleton Reaper was his personal marking.

Dragonfly, The decals went on without much difficulty using the Micro Scale system.

McHoot, Thanks Mark. The model will be on display at Old Guard Hobbies for a few weeks.

Regards, Rick

Another beauty Rick!

hey Rick,

I totally agree, it’s just a matter of preference on those panel lines, I hope you understand that I feel you’ve made a great model.

Steve

GrenadierII, Thanks, glad you liked her.

Steve, No problem, I fully understand [:)]

Great Job! I have to say, I don’t see to many Canadian subjects posted, and your rendition of McNight’s is a wonderful tribute. I’m right in the middle of reading Patrick Bishop’s “Fighter Boys - Saving Britain 1940” a great book on the Battle of Britain. Your model and this book are conspiring to get me in trouble with the wife as I contemplate buying a Hurricane for myself. Cheers.

Ghamilt1, Thanks for the comments. I believe McKnight was from Western Canada as well. Calgary, if I’m not mistaken.

Regards, Rick

That’s beautiful Rick!!! Every time I see one of those I recall the scenes in the Movie: “Battle of Britian”, where those Hurricanes were taking off in formation from the grassy field! Awesome build, thanks! [:)]

Take care,
Frank
