Has anyone seen this kit yet?
Do you mean this Hasegawa 1/48 A-4M?

I’ve only seen the kit in the box, but it looked great to me.
I’m looking forward to the release of their A-4N IDF boxing. I have some left-over Isradecal Scooter markings that will look peachy on that kit. Wonder if they will include the DEFA 30mm cannons and extended exhaust nozzle? If not, no biggie. I can make the parts from Hobbycraft’s A-4E/H work. I imagine the extra RWR lumps and antennas will have to be added as well.
Cheers,
Albert [:o)]
Brian,
That’s the one![:D] I’ve been looking for a good A-4M for a while. Got excited when Hobbycraft put theirs out, but reviews of modelers that built the kit said it wasn’t that great.
Anyone seen them in any LHS or will I have to pursue on-line? Thanks!
Carl
Got mine in my LHS in Jacksonville, NC. Usually when someone buys a kit like that he orders a new one the following day. He also has the Hobbycraft one too. I got both. One built and one in the to do pile.
Paul
They have been out for a few weeks now. The LHS had a couple & sold them quickly. They should still be readily available, either from a web store or the LHS could order you one.
Regards, Rick
Thanks Gents! I’ll keep an eye out. [:)]
Dragonfire,
Try Sprue Bros. http://spruebrothers.zoovy.com/results.cgis?catalog=&keywords=A-4M
I have bought several kits from this site.

Phantom…Thanks! They also have 1/72 A-4M with VMA-311 markings. My “wish list” is starting to grow again.
I still think that is one of the toughest looking aircraft ever built!
It looks plain mean. [8D]

Heinemann knew what he was doing when he designed her and the A-1 Skyraider.[:D]
Carl,
I didn’t know that. Very cool. [8D]
I love the A-1 Skyraider. [;)]

Mike
I love a plane that dropped a used toilet bowl on an enemy position.[:D]
Another one for the future “to-do” list. Of course, it’ll be in USMC markings when I get around to it. Let me know how your’s goes together, Dragonfire.
Lemonjello: That may be a while since the wife and I will be moving soon (looking at renting a house), so currently my projects are on hold for a couple months. Doesn’t prevent me from stocking up though.[:D] I will definately keep everyone in the loop once I get up and running again.
Hasagawa’s A-4 M is great, so far. I’m in the process of adding the Aires wheel wells, cockpit, flaps, and air brake details. The color scheem will be the “last” skyhawk produced, that is the factory gloss gull gray upper, gloss white lower, and the dark blue spine and side stripes with all the flags of nations that used the Skyhawk.
Anyone know the FS number of the dark blue?
Anyways, I have dry fitted about 85% of the kit and it fits very well. It measures out acurate to scale and the scribed panel lines are very fine and crisp. The only complaint I have is the lack of arms. A USMC aircraft should be armed!
As for the Hobby Craft kit, I donated it to the Cub Scouts. rangerj
I also have both kits and the Hasegawa offering is in a class of it’s own! Ranger, was the AM cockpit worth it? I have not started the kit yet, but if you have “office” pics of the AM they would greatly appreciated!

Ranger/Grenadier…with your info I’m getting really antsy to get this kit before the AV-8B II Plus from Hasegawa.[:D] Looks like I’ll have to raid my ordnance box and/or get Hasegawa’s ordnance kits. Can never have too much spare ammo.[:D]
The A-4M is on my next to get list. I’m still working on the Hasegawa A-4C, Revell A-4F and a Hobbycraft A-4E[tdn]. And have another Revell A-4 in the box waiting assembly. Strange considering that I’m a Phantom fan.
If you are looking for a good cockpit set for the A-4M, get the conversion set from Cutting Edge Model Works. It comes with a nice seat, intersument panel/hud, rear bulkhead, canopy hinge base, port and starboard console, and the ARBS Crt for the nose. You will have to do some cutting for the factory hud assembly.
