http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=mq03517&Submit3=Go does anyone know if this kit is any good or if its a piece of junk?
i havent built this particular kit but i have built a few maquette kits and they are not the best in the world but most can usually be finished (a couple i have thrown away) with some extra work and patience, they usually involve lots of flash to be cleaned and youll need some filler the main reason i build maquette kits is they are cheap (on ebay) and they cover subjects that cant be found elsewhere. dont go with maquette if you are expecting tamiya ease of building.

Maquette kits are often a hodge-podge of parts from different manufacturers or reboxes. Their Flakpanzer I was just such a kit and some of their accessory sets are reboxes of Alan or EasternExpress among others.
I’ve got one, unbuilt, for various reasons. First of all, being a rather rough kit of limited run quality. It is originally made by AER of Moldova and has been boxed by other eastern European companies like Toga (my kit is a Toga one), and TOM may be another.
Modelpoint makes a really nice barrel for it (3529), and a set of turned aluminum support rollers as well. Part of Poland makes a very nice photo etched set for it as well (#35-009).
A friend of mine built a nice one on Armorama only replacing the barrel with some tubing. The Modelpoint barrel is one of the best turned aluminum barrels I’ve ever seen.
