Hello everyone,
I am about to start on my 1:48 F-16 DG/DJ from italieri,
I use AK interactive paints (air and real colors), as i have issues using the other manufacturers avalible for me (vallejo, tamiya)…
I am struggeling to find accurate f-16 paints from ak, so far i have planned:
Dark ghost gray FS 36320 (for the nose cone)
Medium grey FS 35237 for the main body, as i could not find FS 36270
Light ghost grey FS 36375 for cockpit, as i could not find FS 36231
All i need now is gunship grey FS 36118, or something very similare. I have not been able to find it.
I would really appreciate if anybody knew a good color to replace FS 36118, or a suggestion to switch the once i have picked out for a more accurate one… Maybe AK has their own name for gunship grey?
Lars
FS 36231 is Dark Gull Grey…
Both Gunship Grey and Dark Gull Grey are easy to find.
FS 36270 is Neutral Grey.
Again, easy and common color to find.

Another place to try for colour conversion is https://hobbylandbg.com/colourtable
This has FS to Italeri / Tamiya / Humbrol / Gunze / Revell and AK Interactive
The cockpit should be dark Gull Gray, or later in Black for an updated late model NVG compatible aircraft. Exterior colors are going to be be Neutral Gray 36270 and Gunship Gray 36118. The radome when new is a synthetic (not painted) matched to 36270, but darkens with age and weathering. Most of your major paint lines except Tamiya make these exact colors.
Thank you very much, i think i will order some mrp paints from the internet, as they seem to have great characteristics and colors
