Bump.
Hey guys, is this thing going to go? Haven’t seen a thing in weeks. If it is, it would be nice to at least have dates. I’ve got a list of candidates from my stash that I’m drooling over.

yeah a date would be nice too.
You know, when I first joined this forum and started reviewing the Group Build threads, I just assumed that there was some ‘higher power’ that decided whether or not a Group Build would proceed or not. But thinking about it now, I guess all that’s required is a ‘sufficient’ number of people willing to participate, and most important of all, someone willing to take on the task of coordinating the whole thing.
I’m not in a position to do that right now due to a number of factors, but I am still interested in participating in the GB. I would think the honor of running the GB should be offered to the person who first had the inspiration - in this case, ps1scw. If he isn’t able to commit to that task at present, then I guess the job is open to anyone willing to do it.
Gentlemen, start your compressors … ?? [dinner]
Hello All,
I agree with Don, ps1scw do you want to be the one to run this group build. If not let us know and we’ll find someone who would like to do that. I might even take a stab at it myself here.[:)]
Cheers,
Thom
Hello all,
I think we need to push this along so with that said. I have come up with a GB badge for this build.
Let me know what you think.
I think the group build should be titled just “Yellow Wing”
Army, Navy/USMC AC of the era (1920’s - 1940’s) are welcome.
All scales and build styles (Kit, Scratch, Resin, Vac Formed, etc…) OOB or Super Detailed.
Start Date : 14-May-2007
Finish Date : 20-August-2007 (Week of the Nationals)
So let me know if this is fine with everyone and I’ll get the thread moved into the GB area.
Cheers,
Thom
Ooooooooooo Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Ummmmmmmmmm [sigh]
OK
All I can think of is “Perfect”! [tup]
Tom [C):-)]
You had me at “Hello”. [:-^]
That seems like a rather protracted timeframe, though - especially as this will be my first build since 1990, and to make matters worse, due to family ‘issues’ I don’t have a workspace set up yet. Still. Very frustrating.
Hello alumni72,
We can make the build longer how does 01-January-2008 sound for an end date. Thats 6 1/2 months to build.
Cheers,
Thom
Sounds good to me [:)]
Tom [C):-)]
If I can’t make that deadline, then there’s no hope for me. [xx(] I don’t mean to be an anchor - I just haven’t been able to get my act together modeling-wise nearly as fast as I thought I would. I’m game for the GB, though - thanks, guys!
Hello alumni72,
You won’t be an anchor, does not matter if you build them fast or slow. All that matters is you have fun and enjoy what your doing. [:D]
Cheers,
Thom
The later date would enable me to take a longer look at entering my Aurora SBC-3, with a few improvements over the origional kit.
I seem to have located the decals I need, and I may have found a nice replacement for the canopy that can be displayed open, as well as a more finely detailed engine by “bashing” a spare Vindicator kit I have.
Otherwise, I would default to a Monogram Devistator or an F3F or a Williams Sparrowhawk or a Hasegawa Curtiss BF2-C.
Decisions, decisions. [:-^]
Tom [C):-)]
Sounds good to me too. Thanks a bunch, Thom.
Now that we have a start date, I’ve got to get going on my choice. My current thinking is to do the 1/72 Hase F2A-1 Buffalo. (always subject to change)
Dick
Hello All,
I have offically created a thread in the Group Build area for this build, and all new posts concerning this build should be done there.
I put together a list of participants based on the modellers whom replied to this post, please post on the new thread with the subject of your build.
Cheers,
Thom
