Time for a change of pace: i was thinking about doing some more armor and car kits, but i havent built a plane in quite some time, and the thought of building an A-10 bristling with underwing stores lured me away from another WWII tank. i just figured i would ask if anybody be interested in a Ground Attack Group Build? any scale, nationality, and era would be welcome. scratchbuilding and conversions (a 1/48 A/C-130 Spectre wouldbe cool to see lol) would also be fine. the aircraft would have to be either a specific variant designed for close air support (i.e. a Solid Nose eight .50 cal B-25 would be fine…a greenhouse nose B-25 would not because it is more of a medium bomber then, not a dedicated close air support aircraft) Fighter-Bombers (i.e. FW-190s, F-16s, F-15s) would be ok, as long as they have a ground attack load out. If you want to Build a P-47 for this build, i would also suggest checking out the official P-47 GB run by DOOGSATX. Helos would also be fine, just so long as they are attack choppers.
if i can get some people together (more than 2 or 3 including myself) then i will create an official thread. this GB would go from mid Feb 2012 to July 2013. if you have any questions regerding rules, guidelines, or aircraft elgibility let me know!
This is another GB i would be interested in, but again, depends on the time frame. I won’t be starting any new builds this year, but if its going to run into the first quarter of next year, and i am all set up, then i am in.
in all honesty, it will probably run from early Feb this year to jue next year (not exactly what i posted originally, but oh well) i won be able to start my own build for a few weeks because of a GB and a scratchbuild (Search “XM77” in the forums andyou will see that priject will occupy me for a while as well lol) that have me binded for a while…plus i will have to wait til friday this week just to ORDER my A-10, and another 7-12 days to get it, so definetly no rush lol.
the “Flanker Frenzy” GB? i wanted to join so bad i could taste it but im biding my time until someone actually makes a SU-37 in 1/48. im still following your GB though, since the Flanker family has my favorite jet in it i’m stuck lol.
I am moving from my barrack room to home in Aug/Sept, and that includes all my modelling gear. And then i have to find somewhere to build. So everything for me will be on hold from August. But, if things go well, i am in. I have a large stash of Ju 87’s and will be a good chance to build one.
always wanted to build a stuka but i’ve never gotten around to it. i wanted to do one in 1/48 (with theunderwing cannons) flying over the verlinden blown in half 1/48 t-34…maybe in 15-20 years when i finish all the other projects i want to do lol.
My build calendar is chock full at the moment, but I’ve been considering a few ground pounders for the medium term. Hasegawa AU-1, Typhoon, the new Revell PV-1 with the chin guns, PBJ-1J (gun nose conversion of course).
Need to get through the current (two Jugs, Fiat G.55) and next round (Tamiya Ki-84, Airfix 109E-3) and see where I’m at.
