Graf Zeppelin carrier deck

I know American aircraft carrier decks were made of wood, and i believe the British used metal? I’m not quite positive , but what would the Graf Zeppelins carrier deck been made of? I’m going to build the 1/350 trumpeter kit but I’m also doing a stand alone diorama with a Bf-109T on the deck. I just want to know is there a certain country that the Germans were copying, would the deck be made of wood or steel? Ive Reviewed the directions and paint scheme for multiple carrier kits and it seems like some call for a gray color while some call for a wood color, its a bit confusing at times.

Thank you in advance !

Thank you, i hesitate with wiki at times. Sounds like it was steel over wood.

Yeah, it was like the british, wood planked armor deck.

Thank you, I was looking for a british carrier deck kit or diorama base that i could use for my diorama. I’m tempted by coastal kits but not ready just yet to pull the trigger on it.
