Hi all,

Does anyone know of a brand of gold paint that is high gloss. I’ve checked out the Allclad II but is not high gloss.

I’m sorta partial to model master enamels for anything metallic

I like Testors enamels, and use a lot of MM, but I find the regular old enamel gold- found in the small square bottles- is a great gold. It is hard to get it really glossy, but then a glossy finish is hard anyway. That Testors gold is the same old stuff I have used for forty or fifty years, and really a gold gold. It also brushes nicely for small detail parts and carvings on old ships. It is available in spray cans too.

Thanks guys…I’m doing a 1/8 scale C3PO hence the gloss gold. I’ll check out the small MM bottle but i haven’t seen those bottles for a while now.

Gunze Makes a nice buffable gold color. It buffs to a nice bright sheen.
