Glue Rubber Tank Tracks?

I’m buliding the Tamiya M1A2 tank which has rubber tank tracks. Do I just use regular super glue to glue this? The last kit I built had you melt the track together but noway to do with this kit. Thanks

CA should work fine on them. I normally trim off the tabs you are supposed to melt and just put the glue to it. I have had better luck that way than melting them.

I used to do the old “heated hobby knife” bit until one day I dropped the knife (red-hot mind you) and it landed point down in my foot. The only advantage was that the wound it created was also cauterized so there you go. Now I use CA or, in the case of the newer Tamiya tracks, regular model glue. The kit will tell you if the tracks can be glued together or not. If not, CA works really well.

Some of the newer rubber tracks can be glued with standard model glue, check the Instructions.

I use super glue and pinch them together lightly with needle nose. Works great.

wbill76- OUCH!!! that musta hurt!!!
i dont really recommend that u glue it with regular model glue… i tried it and it is so easy to recognize it and to rip it off…i melt it… it works for me and it doesnt have to be red hot…

I heat an old screwdriver and melt the tracks together. However, having said that, I know that some companies are flaunting their new “glueable” vinyl, so if there are no locating holes and tabs for melting the tracks, read the instructions very carefully for any mention of whether or not the tracks are glueable.
