Is there anyway to get glue off a canopy. I am new to modeling and aren’t very good at it.
You must sand the point with wet sand paper. Begin with a fine grit (#400) and go ahead progressively with more fine grained ones until you can´t see the scratches. Next, rub some tooth paste on the canopy and polish it. CAUTION! USE LITTLE PRESSURE TO AVOID BREAKING THE PART!!! The final step: dip the canopy in Future Floor Polish, wait until it dries, and you will have a “new” canopy. Hope it helps you.
(Excuse my mistakes, I´m not proficient in English.)
It also depends on the type of glue. I use white glue on my canopies a lot. White glue will just “pop” off. If it is superglue or a tenax type of glue then mauriciovalle’s comments are exactly right, though I use an alluminum polishing paste, it is a bit less gritty than toothpaste.
However if your canopy is totally ruined you may be able to order a new one from the manufacturer or an after market producer.
You can also use ‘Bare Metal’ plastic polish, TCut, Brasso or Brasso Wadding.
The first 3 are applied with a soft cloth or cotton bud, then polished out
