I asked the same thing in the Techniques section, but no response as of yet. I asked it there because I think it may be an issue of me not using it properly, but I just can’t get the Glue Looper to do what nearly everyone says it does - and does well. I’m very confused by this because it seems so simple. I’ve tried both Loctite Professional Liquid Super Glue and Bob Smith Super Thin CA. I put the parts together, put a drop of glue on a jar lid, then dip the loop in the glue, gently rub off the excess, check to see if there’s still glue in the loop…but when I go to touch the loop to the seam, nothing. The glue just sits there in the loop. This tool has quite a few glowing reviews, and even the people who say they don’t use it say, in virtually every instance, it “works as advertised”
I have a cut sewing needle inserted into a stick of sprue that I was using for CA, and it works great, but the Glue Looper is supposed to disperse the glue better, which is what makes sense to me and why I got it. I’m really confused why I can’t get it to work. Any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful
I find it works only when using very thin (like water) CA glue, anything thicker will not flow. The glue on the Looper has to touch the part before it will wick off the Looper. I always check to make sure the Looper picked up the glue after dipping, sometimes it will not wick onto the Looper. I don’t think I every wipe excess glue off of it before using. Most times it works and when it doesn’t I just burn off the dry glue and start again. It really allows me to get the glue into the seams.
I only use a pin and the Looper mostly, once in awhile a toothpick.

Thanks Marcus. I guess I must not be getting enough glue into the loop, or wiping too much off. When I check, I see glue still in the loop, but maybe there’s not enough at the bottom where I’m touching the plastic. The guy in the video makes it look like it’s fool-proof, and I’ve found absolutely no one that’s having any difficulty with it. I’ve even tried super thin CA, which is extremely runny, but I just can’t get it to flow. It’s pretty much a loss for me so far

I use Bob Smith’s Super Thin - I do not wipe any excess off. Make sure, like Marcus said, that the glue comes in contact with the edges of the seam so it will wick in. Works great here. Good luck!
