GLUE FIRST OR PRIMER AND PAINT FIRST

Simple Question

Glue first or primer and paint first?

Whats your guys take?

I always complete a figure before any painting. Then I prime to check for flaws, gaps, mold lines, etc… The exception is any headgear. I leave it off until I’ve finished the face and hair.

Well, when I build a figure I glue segments at a time, do the torso and arms, and the legs seperatly, and work on them till I think there good to go, then prime, all before gluing it together. The head I paint seperatly and glue on last (easier to avoid problems)

Glue first…

Whatever floats your boat. I sometimes do a little assembly, then prime. Sometimes prime, then do assembly. Sometimes complete assembly, then prime. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I’m with EasyMike, it’s not always the same. It depends on how complicated the figure is, especially as far as undercuts go. I guess generally I clean and prime the parts first, but I have assembled some, then primed. Cleaning is always first.
