I pretty much know the answer to this question , but just in case. Does anyone produce a kit of one the latest carriers ? Regan , Bush etc. Built the Nimitz for a friend whos son served on her. Just had another friends daughter ship out on board the Regan. would like to do one for them also
what scale?

Shapeways offers some 3D conversion items for the 1:350 scale Nimitz kit to make a Reagan. They also have some small-scale complete models (< 700 scale).

Italeri has produced each of the ships in the Nimitz class in 1/720 scale, although these kits are only starting points. While Italeri has modified the kits of the later ships by changing side sponsons, weapons, and various other equipment, they never changed the islands to reflect the different stages in class development. These kits have been said to be approximately 75% accurate.
Arii/Otaki once produced most USN supercarriers in 1/800. Unfortunately, the Nimitz class did not live up to the standards of their earlier kits.
Finally, Trumpeter produced a USS Nimitz in 1/350 in its “as built” configuration but has also produced several excellent kits of the class in 1/700 that show many of the changes made to individual ships at various stages throughout their careers. Trumpeter once produced a 1/500 scale Nimitz that is nothing more that a toy, although I am sure that it could be detailed.
I hope that it helps!

Sorry guys. I was speaking of 1/350 scale. Built the Trumpeter Nimitz last time. I liked the results. I was just hoping that I could build " out-of-the-box" and not have to hunt down all the conversion bits not to mention the my scratch building skills are lacking. I will look into the conversion bits , just worried that the cost might start to mount up. I just can’t bring myself to work in 1/700 again. to small for these old eyes. lol thanks guys
