Hey folks,
I am planning on a Bulge Dio for the GB in the GB forum. I want to kind of replicate a scene from Band of Brothers. The figures listed below are Plus Models US medics. Would these figures be applicable for an Ardennes/Battle of the Bulge time frame? Also, are these figures OK? What I mean is are they good products? Has anyone built Plusmodel figures? I have built some of their resin and PE stuff and it’s been very good, just don’t know about the figgys.
Thanks for all your help in other problems and in advance on this one.
Ted
I am not an expert on uniforms or equipment, but at first blush they look just fine for late 44. I am sure someone will be able to tell you specifically
[:D] hi to me the figures look great, im sure the will fit into your dio,have fun[:D]

The more I think about it, the more I think these are fine. The US introduced new cold weather gear late in the war, but there was a shortage and during the Ardennes there was a mix of the old and the new. So no matter what uniforms they have on, they should be fine.
Ted;
This will probably result in some backlash from someone. The only problem I see with these figures is the leggings over the footwear instead of the Corcoran Jump Boots. I would suggest you look close at the scene of the film you’re going to portray.
The solution to this is just a razor saw boot swap with Dragon Paratrooper boots or Verlinden.
Cheers;
Gregory
Yep the figures are fine and they will definitly go with band of brothers!
gburdon is right- the 101st bloused their pants in their jump boots
I agree that there are certain differences between the uniforms/boots. You may want to do some Frankensteining with these (all from Dragon)…

Keep us posted.
hmmm get the Dragon sets and keep the medics because they were the unsung hero’s during the Battle of the Bulge.
To be totally accurate, the majority of your figures would be wearing 4 buckle overboots. Until shoepaks became available, they were the issue winter boots as they kept your boots dry, therefore your feet were warmer. Speaking from experience, 4 buckle overboots aren’t that much better than boots alone (especially if you aren’t moving around). But when you’re really cold and know it ain’t going to get any better, you use everything you can to survive.
Thanks for all the great input. I bought the figures anyway, only 10 buck, so I really can’t loose. I have a warriors figgy that I was going to use originally, so I will stick to that one. It’s more in line with what I want to do anyway.
qmiester, I would like to hear your stories someday. Thanks for what you did to allow me the freedoms to sit in my basement and type this message.
