this is my second figure after my recent restart with the hobby. A friend gave me the 54 mm scale Sparta figure of a German Stormtrooper which I have put on a small base.
This is the story :
Sector Chemin des Dames, Operation Blücher, May 28th 1918.
After an initial bombardment on May 27th , the German Army crossed the river Aisne and destroyed a large part of the eight British and French divisions defending the area, while moving an astonishing 20km into enemy territory.
I really like it. Nice base! If anything, I’d say soil him up some… trench warfare was dirty livin’. Maybe some pastels / pigments to tie him together to that cool base.
Nice model and base! Just to say ( and I’m not being critical!) that apparently German stormtrooper tactics were to attack with rifles slung and have to have the hands full of grenades. But, Hey, maybe he threw all his already!
Creative base! Is that a cross section of a small log? I like it. I only have two things to say, one, definitly a good idea to use some pigments and pastels to tie him into the base, and two, I love the mustache! lol good work!
Nice work, the Afghan soldier stands out, I like the backdrop shot. I feel bad for the Dutch soldier! What did you use for the ice?
I’m looking forward to your NKFD/Volkssturm vignette. I’m assuming the one wont be carrying the panzerfaust? Or is that to make the NKFD member reconsider? haha just kidding
That dry dock warehouse with the mini Uboat looks like it was a big project, good luck with technique updates! Eyes can really be some tedious work. What scale do you usually work with? Trying to dot little 1/35 eyes isnt much fun for me
The ice was made of a litthe sheet hobby plastic, op top of fast drying clay. I first had cut out the shape of the hole in the ice. Then painting as usual from dark to lighter tones. I also carved some cracks in the ice to make it a bit more realistic. The hole was painted and then filled with white glue.
Good question about the Panserfaust I’m still not sure if he will hold it of perhaps dropped on the ground …
I need to re-do some of the older figures, but the dry dock was a nice project to work on; I have something with these midget submarines
