German nightfighter translation

I’m finishing a nightfighter and want to put the words “Nightfighter” on the base in German.

A literal translation online was “Nächtliches Kampfflugzeug.”

Is there a better generic word or phrase I can use?

Looks like the German Wikipedia uses:

which is a literal translation of the term: night fighter.
