"GERMAN ARROWS" - OFFICIAL DO-335 GB

That’s great news, Eagle! Just tell me the manufacturer and you’re on the list!

One of Santa’s elves said it was a Tamiya 1/48! Santa is great!

Eagle90

Even a Tamiya kit? Santa is great indeed!

Hey everyone,

I’m in with the Revell 1/48. I’ll do it OOB, but probably end up re-scribing it.

This will be my 6th build since getting into scale modelling, but the first group build! I’ve been wargaming for the last 10 years, but hadn’t been doing much of it and missed the build+paint aspect of that hobby. I’ve always had an interest in aviation, so this seemed a good fit. I’ve been having a blast so far!

Anyway, excited to get started soon. Such a cool plane!

Welcome aboard! And yes , a cool plane indeed. IMHO, I believe if the Germans had produced enough of these a bit earlier that the air war over Europe may have been a different ball game. Not that the end results would not have been the same, just a tougher victory over all.

Clemens… I’m still researching some other avenues, and not changing the kit I intend to build , But I think if I can find the add ons I may do a night fighter, I’ve never done one, and it all depends on if I can find the conversions required. The radar operators blister is not proving easy to locate…

Doug

Welcome to this GB, Shep! I put you on the list.

Doug: A nightfighter would be awesome! I hope you can find the parts required for it!

You feel old!

I still have a testers bottle of paint in my paint box that says 19 cents on it![:O]

John

Is this build still open? I have a Monogram 1/48 kit.

Freem

John… WOW, (LOLOLOL) Hey by the way… How do you get your signatures to post? I keep getting a message something about 512 Something, and they wont post, I cant figure out how post them.

Freem, I’m not the administrator, but I’ll bet Clemens will be thrilled to have ya! Welcome!

Thanks Doug

Doug, you either need to make a moving GIF image or put all the badges into one image.

Doug,

I had to bring all the graphic stuff into Microsoft paint and combine it and shrink it down to I think about 19 bytes or something then I could add about 3 lines of text. I’m sure I’m not doing it right either. I don’t know how other guys have about 20 build flag and can still post. O where are the posting god’s?

John

OK Thanks, I’ll see what I can do with that, Someone said make a GIF but I still got the same results. Thanks John…

Thanks Bish, I think I need to get my grand daughter over here to help with that(LOL) I tried the GIF and got the same answer, so Im not doing something right! Thanks again Bish…

Took me ages to figure it out. I use Microsoft paint as well, I find it handy for making GB badges to. Once you get used to it, its pretty good.

Freem, as Doug said already, I’m glad to have you in here! The GB is all but closed. In fact, it didn’t even kick off. Well, technically it is August 1st already here in Austria (1:53 AM)…

I put you on hte list!

Everyone else: I also never figured out how to post all those badges in my signature. I get the same 512 error…

I would defiantly recommend paint.net. Ashide from being able to put your badges into one images, its handy for making the badges in the first place.

I just ordered Quick boost exhausts for my 335. So when they get here I can start in earnest on the build. Not sure what to make of the original exhausts on the Monogram kit, they had some kind of flame covers that would be used for the two seat version. But I’m doing the single seat.

John

I can’t wait to see some pics, John!

Bish: Thanks for the link. That program looks a bit confusing, but I’m sure I can figure stuff out.

No problem. And if I can figure it out, anyone can. It took me a while, especially at making GB badges.

Paint it is Bish! I’ll give it a go this weekend! Thanks again…

John, if memory serves the exhause dumps were molded into the engine on the Revell/Monogram kit. Your best bet is as your doing, order an AM set. Aside from trainers the two seaters were mainly night fighters , hence the need for the exhaust covers.Really anxious to begin this one but still a ways off, thats OK, still plenty of time to research!
