hi guys,i was wondering if there was any camo on the english general lee(grant)during the battle of gazala (afrika) or was it only sand color overall?can not make it out from the pictures i found on the net[:(] help would make my day, thanks anyone [:)]
Some of the Lee / Grant tanks in North Africa did have a camo pattern applied to them.
I’m not 100% of the vehicles used in the Battle of Gazala though. You’d have to reference that a little more.
Here’s a pic of one.

Good luck maffen. Nice looking picture. It should be nice looking tank.

Shermy, I have a image of the same tank you have posted here, a Grant of “3” troop, “A” squadron of the 1st Armoured Division, a division which fought at the Battle of Gazala, but I don’t have a date for this particular paint sceme. The two images I do have of Grants at Gazala, the first of which is from the 1st Armoured Division, shows them in overall Desert Yellow.

My info is kind of sketchy here, but it is possible that these two scemes existed simultaneously. In one of my books, it shows a knocked-out Grant with the 4 color sceme of large areas of Desert Yellow and Olive Green, outlined with thin bands of black and white, which appears in the chapter on the Battle of Gazala, but who knows if the picture was actually taken there?
i have the game battlefeild 1942 and i think it has the grant in the battleof gazala ill go check
yeah it does and it was just a dusty colour im not sure if this is 100% accurate but good luck
thanks guys [:D] overall sandcolour it will be
