Blazzing Saddles!
“It’s HEDLY!”
That’s actually Harvey Korman you’re thinking of.
Very sad. He was great in every role he played. To your list, I’ll add “The French Connection”, as well as “Superman”.
Ugh. Yup. Now I fell dumb.
Second try: Hackman had a fun, small role as the blind peasant in Young Frankenstein.
I think I first saw him in A Bridge Too Far. But he will always be my Lex Luthor!
“Otisburg? Otisburg? OTISburg?!?!”
One of my favorite Luthor/Hackman quotes from “Superman: the Movie:” “It’s amazing that brain can generate enough power to keep those legs moving.”
I saw that this morning and had to do a double take when I saw that he was 95 years old but after I thought about it, it all made sense. We don’t get to choose how or when we’re gonna go but that’s a tragic ending to a prolific actor and his wife…and dog. Terrible news. Loved his work.
A sad loss for Hollywood and for us. Such a versatile actor.
