GB Idea

‘Allied Aircraft in Vietnam’
We’d have to consider dates, but any allied (Aussie, American, French, ARVN, etc.) aircraft that was used in the vietnam war would be elligible. I’d be entering my 1/48 Tamiya A-1J, entrants could be just started. I’m thinking OOTB, but I could cap it at one AM item. Just a thought…

Will

Will,

I would be happy to make the GB badges for your GB if you like. I made the ones for the Revell-Monogram GB if you want to see my graphics work. I’m not going to enter your GB since I am already part of the RM GB, but if you like my work I can make the badges. When you have enough participants let me know.

Air Master

Sounds like a good idea Will.

If you go ahead, you can count me in with a Monogram 1/48 F-105D. (I like the OOB idea as this could get way out of hand!)

It won’t be before march that I can get started as I have a fair bit on my plate at the moment.

Hope it comes together as I really love the Vietnam era Aircraft.

Cheers

Mark

Only two replys!! C’mon!!

Airmaster - Thanks for the offer!

Vietnam is a huge area of intrest for a lot of modelers, where are you all??!

Will

If this build starts sign me up for a Monogram 1/48 Skyraider.

Depending on when it starts i could be persuaded to throw my F-4 into the mix

I can’t make any promises but, it sounds like fun.

If I am able to participate, I will probably do the Revellogram 1/48 A-37B Dragonfly and their 1/48 A-1H Skyraider.

I was thinking of an A-1E BUT, I don’t have the spare $60.00 for the C&H kit. Besides it probably wouldn’t qualify, as it is a resin kit requiring the use of the Tamiya A-1H kit.

Thats better, helicopters are included in ‘aircraft’ by the way

Will

Will, i don’t know if you’ve done this already but you may want to inquire in the “Rotorhead” forum as well. Sorry if you’ve already done this, I don’t often visit over there!

I’m still working on my 1/35 Stupa, but I was considering the 1/72 Italeri B-57 in SEA colours from my stash. This GB might just be the ticket to get me doing it!

I could definately become interested in this GB, especially if it is later in the year. I have six going already, include a couple on the ARC forum. Viet Nam is a special interest to me since I spent 3 years in that cess pool.

Darwin, O.F. [alien]

Good Idea! , i do visit there, but just forgot to post this there!!

Thats better everyone! I’m thinking 30th of January 2007 till the same date next year. Please say something if the date does not suit you, as I want to make it woek for as amny people as possible.

Will

Works well for me Will.

I’ll look for it on the GB board.

Mark

Well if you allow some AM and scratchbuilding I am planning a 1/32 Testor’s HH-43 Huskie with the Cobra Company resin kit. I’m going to build it as a Pedro crash rescue helo so will be scratch building an FSK to go with it. There is no way I will be able to get started before the end of the month and with an end date of next January I think I can finish before that date.

So it really depends on if you allow AM or go OOB only.

I’ve got a French Bearcat used in Indo-China on the schedule, I assume it would qualify?

Been meaning to tell ya- that’s a nice looking badge. Very good work.

Guys, I went ahead and made two badges for this possible GB. Pick out the one you like best and vote on it. I hope they inspire more modelers to sign on to this GB cause it is a great topic for a group build.

Here they are.

Air Master

Thanks for the kind words Jon.

Air Master

Ok, the GB is going ahead!! AM will be allowed but capped at one item, scrathcbuilding is allowed! I Like the corsair one airmaster, thanks for the effort. Everyone give an opinion and will use the one the majority like.

See in the GB section!!

Will

I’ll join. I don’t know what I’ll build for it yet. I want to think on it for a while first. I do know it won’t be my Airmodel CH-37 vacform!
