Fw-190A-6 Cockpit interior pics and advice needed

I’m modelling an Fw-190G-3, but I know that The G-3 version was a modified A-6, so the cockpit interior must be the same… Anyone has A-6’s interior pics?.. I’ve only found A-8’s cockpit pics… I’ve only made one modification, and it was the adding of the throttle lever in the port console. Another thing… I’ve read Swanny’s Luftwaffe Painting Orders since a long time, but there are some exceptions to the rules, and I think the G-3 is one of that exceptions… Specially the wheel well area… What color must I paint it?.. RLM 02 or the underside color?, I mean RLM 76 Lichtblau… The only marking option is: Fw-190G-3, Salerno, 1944… Suggestions and recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance… Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Regards.

José.

Here is the FW-190A-6 cockpit:

It might not be perfectly accurate, but most are very close. It would be
a good idea to compare with photos if you can get your hands on some.

Good luck.

Almost all of the lufftwafe fighter interiors where RLM 66 all the books i have and pictures and of models built wheel well color was RLM 02. If nothin else wing_nut might have some more info for you. Hope this helps.

Uh-oh… what’d I do now??[;)]

So… if you build 5 Fw 190s in a row that make you an expert [;)] Well Not really an expert but thanks for the kind thought.

Zero… I would follow Swanny’s suggestions for colors… 66 in the cockpit and 02 for wheels wells, landing gear struts and access panel interiors. Yes there were always variations but unless you have specific data on the a/c you are building you will be safe with those choices.

As far as the cockpit… Sorry but I don’t have… or just have not found yet… pics of a G-3 pit. You would have to compare them to an A-6 pit and THEN assume that your starting point in the model is accurate/correct. To be honest… I am not that much of a rivet counter to go too crazy making every single possible correction to 1 dial on a panel to have it bee dead on accurate. External difference may be a different story. But, and this is where some of “my modeling philosophy” comes into play remember that every manufacturer gets it “wrong” sometimes as well as “right”. Meaning they will have some inaccuracy molded into the kit, read the 2 recent reviews on the Dragon 1/32 P-51, whether it is due to economics, engineering of the kit or just bad reference material. The point is, if you produce a perfectly executed “build” as in constructions, finishing etc, and then say that it is an out of the box build… all of a sudden… those inaccuracies are accepted… someone else’s fault so to speak… and YOU have a great model on the shelf or contest table.

OK… I am off the soap box now[soapbox][:D]. Here are some links to some good info regarding 190 variants. Has some nice before/after drawing from one variant to the next. Most of the changes in your case are external it seems with just an auto-pilot change to the cockpit. And for that I refer you back to my rant above[;)]

Jose, 190 pits didn’t change a great deal between any of the variants, the only addition usually being a weapons selection panel beneath the centre of the IP on F & G models.

As for the wheel bays always 02, apart from those aircraft built at the very end of the war which had bare metal, but these usually had a partially NMF lower wing to go with it.
