Hey JoeR… I must be looking at something diff then you, The He111P is listed at 105.00 and the He111N is 76.00? The P is the one I saw in the LHS with the “N” at about the same as squadron. Still darn good prices!
OK… I see the differance now… The one you saw was Revell America and the one I was looking at was Revell Germany… The only thing I noted differant was the Revell America said in the description “Ex Revell AG Molds” whatever that means. Well, were going to find out pretty quick! (ha) Thanks again Joe!
My pleasure me compadre. I so wish I had the space to display 1/32 kits as I sure would be into buiding them. I still eye the Revell 1/32 Ju88 and that He111 would be choice to build. Alas, I am certainly fine with 1/72 & 1/48 though.
Doug, AG should mean German company, sort of similar to a US corporation (Inc. or LLC etc). Maybe Clemens can confirm this, but I’ve never seen the abbreviation ‘AG’ used for anything else. I think it is a German word that is unpronounceable to me.
So would have to guess they are Revell Germany molds? Which should mean a pretty good kit?
Greg is right. It is an abbreviation which means something along the lines of “company”, but in all honesty, I have no clue what the actual meaning is. Why? Because there are many terms this stands for. In this case it seems to relate to “Aktiengesellschaft”, which is in fact a German term for company (none you would use in everyday German though.).
Thanks guys… That halps and makes sense, being Revell is global. I guess I just cant understand why there has to be two diff standards for the product. Thanks again guys!
Yeehaw, We be having fun with decals now. I never thought I would see this but, it seems I have found a set of decals that is impervious to the powers of Solvaset and Microsol. Yup, the Authentic Decals set that I am using had absolutely no reaction to either setting solution when I conducted a test prior to applying them to the model. Mind boggling. Luckily I happen to have a set of Aeromaster 1/72 balkenkreuz and another set of Eagle Strike decals for FW 190As for the majority of the stencils. Thus, the only decals I need from the Authentic set is the black M & I and the serial #. This coupled with three different interpretations of which type of balkenkreuz to use and its placement between my 3 different references. This is though the fun of our hobby.
Joe (mustang)- That thing is looking sweet with the nose on. Looks like there will be tons of detail visible on that engine!!
Joe (Rix)- cant wait to see some cals on that cool looking finish!!
Clemens- Are you going to be building four (4) Eduard 190’s at the same time??? And I thought I had lost my sanity by building 2!!
Just got back from a trip to the beach myself so hopefully benchtime is incoming!!
I did get to stop by the Warner Robbins Museum and check out their fantastic collection of planes!!! Got lots of pics as that place is awesome, and FREE!!! Also, got to stop by the 8th Air Force museum in Savannah and got some great pics there as well. They are currently restoring a B-17 as the “City of Savannah”.
Both were very cool places that I would very much recommend if you’re ever in the area!
Thanks Eric. There is alot of detail visible. Just get the Eduard PE set for it though. With that the engine has about 75 parts and it really pays off to use it!
I know thats right. I barely have room enough on my bench for the one I’m doing! All’s I can say is my hat goes off to the man that 1) has the room to do that and 2) that CAN do that!
I have the space for them, as I just removed everything from my bench except my tool box. That provides me with 1.6m x 0.6m of space… I just hope the last one arrives soon (A-8)…
I’m not too sure if I can do it, but it’s worth a try. I’m completely insane anyway, so I don’t have to worry about my sanity, eh?
What schemes do you have planned out Clemens? I am planning on building my D-9 pretty soon but I really don’t have a scheme picked out ytet. I was kicking some around but do realize that alot of D-9s looked like crap just due to the fact that they weren’t sheltered much.
I hope you have your chair mounted on wheels or better yet a track so you can slide from one model to the next with just a push from your foot. [proplr]
