FW-190-A3 finished (lots of pics)

Here it is, my first german aircraft. It is Tamiya’s 1/48 kit built OOB. The paints are all Gunze acrylics and the decals are the kit ones (yes, I actually used some Tamiya decals). I enjoyed this build because the kit pretty much put itself together, and the camo scheme was a bit of a challenge. I gave it some light weathering with pastels and a bit of dry brushing. So here are the pics, I hope you like them:

Thanks to everyone who helped me out with this build and thanks for having a look.

cool stuff there dan, i like the eagle alot [:)] how did you do the shading ? pre or post ?

Thanks reggie;

I actually did the shading with pastels. I don’t trust my ability with an airbrush enough to post shade it. I actually did some pre shading, but I decided the lines were too thick and it all got covered when I sprayed the main colours.

That looks quite nice, Daniel.
Clean, but not clean…the pastel shading gives the thing a lot of depth.
Well done, mate.

Stunning 190 Pingtang, really really well finished !

Indeed, the finish on that is quite superb. Thanks for sharing!

Ahhhhhhh, beautiful Daniel.

Really turned out a nice build mate, and the mottling looks superb.
Good to see the Aussies keeping up appearances!![;)]

Thad

Excellent work!

Beautiful work Daniel.

Just wondering if you had any trouble with the Tamiya decals. I only used them once, and after some troubles developed a fear of using them again. However, if the interest of saving money I may have to try again someday…

Leon

Nice job Dan. It looks like you got the weathering “just right”!

Ray

Looks great Daniel, I really like the markings on this one. When are we going to see your next German aircraft? This one was a real treat to see. I am hoping to see more!

beautifull bird Dan [;)]

That looks wonderful, ping. You did a great job on your shading (an area that I need alot of work on).

Very nice work Daniel [tup]. Great looking Butcher Bird. Isn’t it amazing that the Luftwaffe used Squadron’s logo on their birds ?? [:D][:D]. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick
