Future Gloss coat Replacement

I have heard from several sources that the Future Floor Wax often used by modelers to provide a gloss top coat on their models has been taken off the market. I recently attempted to find a bottle of Future at several store outlets with no success. Apparently, it is no longer easily found. As a result I started an effort to find a replacement of equal quality. I believe I have found one in a an acrylic floor wax available at Walmart. The product is made by Rubbermaid and is called Professional Plus Universal Floor Finish. It is a high Gloss acrylic liquid which appears to have a milky color but drys clear. I have hand brushed it, airbrushed it and applied it over decals, dipped a canopy and compared the finish to Future by a side by side application. I have not yet applied it to a completed model but my first impression is that it will be a good replacement for Future. Unfortuately, I was only able to find it in a large size container, 1 gallon, for $15. I believe this amount will last a lifetime for the average model builder. I hope this information will be of value to the group.

If I recall correctly, this is no longer sold under the “Future” brand. It is now sold as “Pledge with Future Shine”, and is exactly the same as it used to be - only the mane has changed.

[#ditto] It is called Pledge (with Future Shine) now. Same stuff different labeling.

Here is a pic link of it with new labeling.

In the UK. it’s still called Klear. Bought a new bottle a couple of weeks ago.

Cheers,
