How do you use future floor polish in an airbrush?
Future is thin enoough to airbrush as is, but the key is to immediately flush the airbrush after use. If you don’t, and it sets in the airbrush, it can be difficult to remove. A soaking in an ammonia solution may cut it, but that might damage some airbrushes, and of course ammonia is caustic and toxic. DO NOT SPRAY THROUGH THE AIRBRUSH, YOU COULD FRY YOUR LUNGS.
What would you use to flush out the airbrush of furture floor polish tho ?
Just water, or turpentine ?
I would use plenty of clean water, followed by a commercial window cleaner or windshield washer solvent. Have good ventilation.
I agree, good ventilation is essential. A good respirator mask is also a wise investment.
My personal favorite for clearing acrylic based coatings out of my airbrush is isopropyl alcohol. This should be readily available in any pharmacy right near the rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide.
If your paint or Future is stil fresh in the workings of your brush, then a 50-50 mix of the alcohol and hottest tap water should do the trick.
If its dried on, or getting tacky, break down your airbrush and soak the components in straight alcohol. leave them for an hour or so and rinse them off under hottest tap water.
Hope that works for you!
You might try spraying windex through the airbrush, too. Again, ventilation is a must.
