I was going to ask this on the Future FAQ thread but I was afraid it would get lost in it.
I just used Future for the first time on a model and I have a question. I sprayed a fairly light coat and now, after a few hours of dry time, it’s keeping a very rough surface. Should I have applied a coat thick enough to give it a wet look? Or am I going down the right track now? Since I have a light coat applied that has dried a few hours, should I now put on a thick, wet coat? I guess I should have asked how to apply this stuff before I sprayed it. BTW, I’m spraying at about 20psi if that matters. Does Future require a lower pressure than enamel? Thanks.

Your doing fine- do a couple of more fine coats. Don’t flood it as it can run. It will smooth out. I asked almost this same question about 6 months ago!
For small parts and surfaces- try brushing it on with a soft wide brush and for tiny parts like landing gear and missles just dip them in Future.
Several different things can cause this; paint out-gassing as a result of too little cure time, extreme flat paints which are already rough in texture, surface contaminants or even fingerprints.
