Im would like to know if anyone has any idea what these two sponsors decals are. They are on the rear of the Ed McCullough Revellution funnycar. Any help would be greatly appreciated! THanks!
@rdmeyersr Here is what ChatGPT says:
The large red logo on the right appears to be the old Keystone speed equipment / racing parts logo — the stylized “K” is very characteristic of their 1970s branding used on drag cars and contingency decals.
The small blue logo on the left is much harder to make out from this image quality. It resembles a small contingency sponsor decal, possibly an ignition or speed equipment company, but I can’t identify it confidently from this crop alone.
If you can upload:
** a higher-resolution photo,*
** a wider shot of the rear body panel,*
** or tell me the approximate year/version of the “Revellution/Revolution” funny car,*
I may be able to pin down both sponsors accurately.
Hope this helps, Pete
I scanned these from the original Revell decal. I wanted to recreate these since these are so bad. Its all i have. The kit is from mid-70s.
The blue-and-white car is the early 1971-era “Revellution” Plymouth funny car.
From the enlarged decal snippet you posted, the large red logo is almost certainly:
- Kustom City, Inc.
That was a custom paint/body and speed equipment related sponsor seen on several match-race funny cars of the era.
The small blue decal to the left appears to be:
- Casler Wheel / Casler Racing Wheels
…or a very similar wheel manufacturer logo common in early-1970s funny car contingency decals. The image is a little soft, so I can’t be 100% certain on that one.
Updated info from ChatGPT:
The blue one looks like a Barris logo.
You might want to explore Paint By (Don) Kirby for the red K one.
Anybody got a photo of the real thing? Those might be a far better reference than the crappy kit decals.
Have a nice day!
