Here the first kit I think I’ll build out of my hobby show stash. It is Fujimi’s 1/72 scale Ju-87 D-5 Stuka “White Milk.” I have the Eduard photo-etched set and True Detail’s tires.
I want to paint it in the in a well-worn winter camo scheme as seen on the box art. Here is where I need some help and suggestions. As the white winter paint would be temporary and worn on the plane should I paint the plane in a splinter camouflage scheme or just overall green before applying the white?

For total accuracy, paint the splinter first. In 1/72, you could probably get by with just the RLM 71 or 70, but the real planes had the white wash camo applied over splinter.

If your planning a well worn finish I would definately agree with Rick. It is extra work but it will look better in the end. I just built the Fujimi Ju87D-1 and found that Fujimi’s instructions were not always correct about some of the details. Be sure to check your references as there are some subtle differences between the various D models…not to mention the wing. I used a moskit exhaust set and it looked much better than the kit parts…something to think about since I see your adding some goodies. Also be warned the Fujimi decals need plenty of solvent to get them to sit down.

i would get ahold of pixilater, and see how he does it. ha has done a few german in white camo, although the others here don’t have bad ideas either.
Thanks for all the help! Splinter it is. Where does one get the moskit exhaust? They add a very nice touch.
