I looked at a lot of reference photos and it turns out that crayfish have quite a diverse range of coloration. Some even fluoresce under UV light, so I decided mine would too!

I like it! I like it a lot! That UV paint treatment is just brilliant!
I am sure your crayfish was the finest shellfish ever to grace the tables at Knoxville!

Hmmm… I can’t put my finger on it (See what I did there?), but certain details bother me about those cockroach models. They look kinda… robotty.
I haven’t seen that one! I have the Mantis and the Stag Beetle.
I actually have plans for that Mantis. She the anchor of my Deadly Mantis collection.
Yeah, I got the Beetle for a friend of mine. Pretty neat kit!

Great episode! I think my favorite episodes are the ones with a healthy mix of humor.
Ok, the crayfish model has to be one of the most unique kits I’ve ever seen. Ultra realistic paint job!

This crayfish thread just reminded me that we had someone donate a lobster model kit to my local model club’s auction yesterday. I can’t remember who bid on it and what the final bidding price was. It was a really old kit which was the following.
Deep Sea Lobster, Educational Products (1962)
The weirdest kits in my stash is a pheasant model by Pyro(1958) and some of Lindberg’s old flintlock pistol kits.

That lobster kit rocks. It’s a… Rock Lobster! And now a pheasant! The US kit makers were bold and imaginative back in the day.
