I wonder who does their valet parking? They’re in such neat rows! [:D]
Has anyone else noticed the F-14’s in the picture?
Steve, you tried to make it fool proof and you know what that leads to.
Dai
That’s not fair, all of those hulls are stolen birds…their serial numbers have been etched off!!!
personally I can only identify 3 types of planes there
I’ve got that same pic. So I’m gonna disqualify myself from this quiz. [;)]
Randie [C):-)]
I had heard that FedEx was expanding their fleet, but this is ridiculous![:D]
Do I have to list the serials in order? I’ve noticed a couple are parked out of sequence.
Do you have any better close ups Steve?
Yeee-haw! Dem’s a mess o’ airioplanes ya got there, yessiree Bob!
Put some treads on them and I bet you could ID all of them! Heres what I see in the picture. A-7, T-2, A-6, F-14, S-3, A-4, F-5/T-38. There are some in there that are to indistinct to ID.
Well… obviously, these are aircraft that have been taken out of service due to being old. They’re all junk aircraft, RIGHT! Granted they are all jets, but junk jets. You might say a “JUNK JET PARK BY” (like a fly by) or “JJPB” if you wish.
(Oh god, sometimes I crack myself up.)
my guess is the pic is from Davis-Monthan AFB, Tuscon.
actually I can identify 231 aircraft in that picture!!! [;)][:D]
intruders, vikings, corsairs, and t-38s. I can’t make out any more good enough to identify them.
Okay, I did a recount and heres what I’m getting: 76 X A-7, 52 X F-14, 4 X AV-8, 108 X F-5/T-38, 146 X A-6, 10 X S-3, 147 X A-4, 1 X C-130, 1 X C-7(?), 1 X C-123(?), 1 X C-135, 12 X T-2. There are some in there that may be F-4’s, and there are a bunch in the background that are impossible to ID. There are 569+ A/C in that picture. And they won’t even let me have one!![8D][:0][^]
BTW This is either DM or Litchfield
Well, that’s the funnyest quiz ever!!![swg][swg][swg][swg]
Cant stop laughing! all of you guys have the best answers!
where’s Litchfield???
Litchfield is West of DM about 60 miles or so. It was the naval equivelent of DM. DOD started winding down operations there in the mid-80’s and using the facilities at DM almost exclusively. There are still some naval AC there but there are more airliners than anything else now. I went through there in 2000 and there were a lot of 747’s and 737’s there. But there were also some P-3’s and C-130’s there.
Heres a odd piece of trivia concerning Litchfield, Az. At one point in the early sixties there were more planes in storage than were active with the USN and USMC!!!
