Is there an instruction set for this kit. I have worked out where everything goes except those tiny 4mm long links with the hole at each end - driving me mad
This shows the links before being placed in the holder
The three on the left I have placed in the holder top right ok. Its the little two-holde item bottom right that I do not know how to place
I have never done the King TIgers, but my Tiger set did not have any instructions either. Hopefully someone has done them. Can you post a pic, and maybe we can figure it out?
I have the directions for the Tiger, I will scan and Post those tonight, every pair of Friulmodel tracks that I have used that aren’t the nifty snap ones are done the same way.
To me, it looks like they would fit on the side of the track link. THe two holes on the mystery piece seem to match the two little protrusions on the sides off that bottom left link. Are they a sort of end cap?
the small bars go between each second track
so its the short lenth in the middle and 2 bars on the right and one on the left of the short bar
ill have a look for a photo
Wow, Jon, good call! You nailed it! I’d have never figured it that way. It looks obvious when you look at the cut outs in each link, but I’d have never gotten it! What’s with Friul not giving directions??? I dont’ remember on my Firefly set either, now that I think about it, but I did have some very rudimentary ones for my Pz II. About all they said was that the two bags had one set for each side of the tank and to keep them separate! BIG help!
Dstom, use dressmakers pins instead of the fine wire that comes with the kit to put the links together. You’ll save about half the time!
ive found no problems with the instructions with the tracks, but the ATL-22 look a pain to build
with the Panther and Tiger 2 late tracks i drilled them (just to open them up) and used dress making pins fron Dunelm, the ones with the balls on the end
i used them instead of the wire and they went together quick, there was a bad curve but that went when i kept bending the track
The main problem is the quality of the holder. You are lining up holes from 5 items on each side and the holder does not align them properly - and each item is quite loose. I suppose it would be possible to make a jig from balsa or cast one from plaster. I just don’t understand why Friul did not make the holder of a higher quality. I will be emailing them.
