This is a kit I did for the Spanish Civil War GB at ARC. It represents the plane flown by Werner Molders with 3./JG 88 of the “Legion Kondor” in Spain, August of 1938.
I came full circle on this one, I was supposed to do the Heller kit but didn’t have any decals to do a C/D which the Heller represents. I ordered an AML 109D but the kit was just real mediocre and a couple of disasters into the project it was time for the Heller again. The AML kit did come with a beautiful sheet of decals, which I used to do Molder’s bird, as well as a resin cockpit and control surfaces which I used on the Heller kit as well. The spinner, props, and wheels are from the AML too. The Heller kit really is pretty nice for it’s age and builds up well, especially in comparison to newer limited run kits, it’s still the only game in town for pre Emil 109’s in this scale.
This is four 109’s in a row for me, loooking forward to getting going on a 190D for the Langnase GB for a change of pace!
