Fresh from Swanny's Paint Room

Was stalled for a little while until I could settle on a camouflage scheme for the Bv-215 but finally found what I wanted. Then it was a matter of materials, this particular effort required two boxes of Stick-to-it to lay out the pattern,

The model was coated with a medium gray before the pattern was laid then shot with RLM63 then the adhesive was removed.

Still have quite a bit of work to do. So, what do you think so far?

Interesting, Swanny. I bet Ivan wouldn’t want to see THAT on his tail !

Looking forward to the finish !

Looks very intresting Matt.
I love watching your builds, always gives me ideas of things I want to try later on.
I wasn’t sure I liked the subject matter of this one but its growing on me the more it comes together.

That is sweet. Came out so uniform too. How long have you been using the Stick-to-it? Is is similar to Silly-Putty?

Very cool!

swanny what a beautiful paint job.

Tigerman, while I have been using stick-to-it in masking applications for years this is the most extensive use I’ve ever put it to. It is not like silly putty but is like Blue Tac. I have heard some folks complain of a residue left behind but for the life of me I cannot find any.

Swanny, don’t you just love the opportunities for weird camo that Luft 46 projects give you?

The paint job looks great , and suits that bird down to the ground.

Look forward to seeing the completed build.

Karl

Wild! You have a very fertile imagination to dream up something like that. It is definately a challenge for other modelers to keep up with you. [alien]

Nice work Swanny. I know this is a “what if” aircraft. but is the scheme based on anything Historical, or just your imagination?

Regards, Rick

Rick, I spent quite a bit of time looking at night fighter camouflage schemes looking for something that really struck me. Ultimately I found a different what-if on the Luft 46 site that provided the inspiration for this piece. So the short answer is that it came from my warped mind.

That’s a very interesting looking paint job there Swanny. Great work.

So far it looks fantastic, can`t wait to see the final result, very good job on the bird
Congratulations
Pedro

I dont think there is anything that any of us could think up paint scheme wise that the Luftwaffe wouldn’t have tried.
Except maybe for Lemon Yellow[:P]

Nice work of the camo!
I sympathise with the time you spent making, then placing, all those rolls of Tac.

It’s not for the faint hearted thats for sure.
Again, well done!

I’ve seen a lemon yellow Fw-190 A-3 [:0]

[(-D][(-D][(-D]!
Geez, is nothing sacred anymore!!!
[:P]

my FW-190 has the most lemon yellow most ridiculous luft 46 camo scheme ever, check it -

the horrors of a 11 year old’s paintshop [;)]
