The “Forum Rules and Etiquette” section of the Forum contains a year-and-a-half-old “To All Members” notice from Mr. Kidwell warning of a problem that - I hope - no longer exists. I wonder if FSM really intends to keep it up indefinitely. It’s not the newest post in the section, but for some reason it shows up that way on the big “Discussion Forums” menu.
I took it to be pinned, so that it would always show, because the content of the message is important for all forum members, and especially new ones.
It shows up that way, as the “newest post in that forum”, because it is the newest post in that section
The two with red “announcement” scripts are pinned, then the newest of the ones that could move up and down according to replies, is the thread in question
Pinned topics have that effect on most (if not all) of the forums I belong to,the next “floating” topic is the newest in the section (non-floating forums don’t have that, of course)
