Ford Lotus Cortina

Does anyone know if there has ever been a model of 1965 Ford Lotus Cortina? I would prefer the racing version but the street version would be fine as well. The only ones I have seen are a 1:43 diecast and a 1/32 slot car. Thanks.

Yes. 1:32 from Airfix and 1:16 from Frogg (and later from same molds by russian firm NOVO). Just last week my friend bought one Frogg made from eBay.

If you need any detail shots, just let me know what you need. We have an original '65 in the shop right now.

Thanks for the info guys!!! I’ll look forward to searching one of the kits out. 666Irish, thanks very much for your offer. They’re great looking cars. I’ve only seen one in my area, in the parking lot at a vintage car race.

Remember that they came in one colour scheme only - white with green bodyside flashes:

Do you mean that this was the only colour scheme as sold to the public? I think in the 65 racing season there may have also been one that was red with gold flashes, and possibly one other colour scheme. However white with green is my favourite.

This was certainly the only colour scheme available to the public, and works cars were finished in this scheme too. Once you bought your Lotus Cortina, however, there was nothing to stop you having it resprayed in any scheme you chose.

Cheers,

Chris.

Thanks for clarifying Chris. To me the white/green is by far the best scheme.

Well, the Cortina left the shop yesterday, but not before one heck of a test drive. I can tell ya, that car makes an excellent drifter! LOL

Before she left, I managed to take some good shots. Not much on the exterior (that can be found anywhere), But I got your some very detailed engine bay shots, as well as ride height (front and rear), and full dash and interior shots.

If you PM me your regular e-mail address, I’ll get them to you.

Steve

Thanks Irish666. I sent you a PM the other day but I’m not sure if you got it or not.
