Hey guys, a bit OT but the Forces of Valor collection is adding to it a huge 1/16th scale King Tiger made of metal – it’s turret comes off and apparently all of the interior detail is there, engine, ammo, drivers and RO’s compartments, the whole nine yards. Each track length apparently weighs two pounds!
I haven’t seen pics of it yet, but I am pre-ordering one for my son for Christmas. He’s a KT fanatic and he will flip when he sees what Herr Santa has brought. (And he’d better flip across the roof, as it’s expensive.)
No photos yet, but I trust these guys to put out a great model. Alex’s all-time favorite toy (after Dibby, his bunny from his baby days of course [:)]) is his forces of Valor 1/32nd KT. It goes around killing his plastic Shermans, until the Forces of Valor M1A1 shows up and blows it to kingdom come.
Why didn’t they have stuff like this when we were kids!?!? [:(] All we had were the little plastic tanks that went with the green army men and gray German army men!!
Here’s a bit of info about this incredible pre-assembled die-cast model:
New for 2004 will be a massive 1:16 scale German King Tiger tank to initiate their Extreme Metal series. Featuring metal tracks, removable turret, loadable shells and much more, this machine will weigh in at approximately 40 pounds!
I wouldn’t worry too much about these models showing up in judging competitions. First off, all the detail on this model will not have the same finess or quality of fine PE, second this model weights a lot more then any static model of this size could.
What will be cool, is that all the accesories found on this model will be perfect for casting copies to use on the R/C variants.
Wow! That thing weighs 40 lbs??? Larry, I hope your son is old enough that it don’t outweigh him!!! He’ll get pretty buff just from playing with it… [:D] [;)]
The pre-order special was in an e-mail. I don’t think it’s on the site. You’d probably want to e-mail them and ask about it.
Yeah, even with fifty bucks off it’s a pantload of dough. I’ll be cutting back on my model purchases for a while. Which actually isn’t a bad thing. Better to build what you’ve got in the basement/closet than to just buy more and more.
That will make a fantastic gift!
Just remember on Christmas day that it is HIS tank not yours![:D] (I recommend a little pre-Christmas inspection to avoid fights!)
