Forces of Valor 1/16th scale Tiger II

Hey guys, a bit OT but the Forces of Valor collection is adding to it a huge 1/16th scale King Tiger made of metal – it’s turret comes off and apparently all of the interior detail is there, engine, ammo, drivers and RO’s compartments, the whole nine yards. Each track length apparently weighs two pounds!

I haven’t seen pics of it yet, but I am pre-ordering one for my son for Christmas. He’s a KT fanatic and he will flip when he sees what Herr Santa has brought. (And he’d better flip across the roof, as it’s expensive.)

No photos yet, but I trust these guys to put out a great model. Alex’s all-time favorite toy (after Dibby, his bunny from his baby days of course [:)]) is his forces of Valor 1/32nd KT. It goes around killing his plastic Shermans, until the Forces of Valor M1A1 shows up and blows it to kingdom come.

Why didn’t they have stuff like this when we were kids!?!? [:(] All we had were the little plastic tanks that went with the green army men and gray German army men!!

Sounds like he’ll love it Larry! Too cool.

Eric

Sounds like fun, Larry.

Just how expensive is it? And where did you find it??

Just what I was going to ask. But is this going to be a dream for most of us?

You should get two, put one on each foot and take a drive around the backyard battlefield. It’s only money!

Here’s a bit of info about this incredible pre-assembled die-cast model:

New for 2004 will be a massive 1:16 scale German King Tiger tank to initiate their Extreme Metal series. Featuring metal tracks, removable turret, loadable shells and much more, this machine will weigh in at approximately 40 pounds!

Pre-Order cost is $299.95 USD

Coming out in Sept, you can pre-order from here: http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/add_item.asp?ProductCode=FV85001

RC?

Nope, Static.

No room for R/C equipment unless you gut the die-cast interior.

And only about 50 bucks more than Tamiya’s 1/16 static Tiger II kit!
Looks pretty darned cool.

OK…who’s gonna start griping about “Well, what if someone enters that thing into a contest???”[;)][;)]

then the judges will have to know what all those big models look like.

I wouldn’t worry too much about these models showing up in judging competitions. First off, all the detail on this model will not have the same finess or quality of fine PE, second this model weights a lot more then any static model of this size could.

What will be cool, is that all the accesories found on this model will be perfect for casting copies to use on the R/C variants.

Buda, very gooda point!

I pre-ordered one, so knock fifty bucks off the sticker price. I got it from that Onsite company that sells the diecast toys.

40 pounds??? Poor UPS guy!

Hi Larry,

Could you provide a link to the site that you pre-ordered it from?

Thanks

BUDA

Pretty sweet. A little out of my normal price range. Surprised it doesn’t fire.

But my wife will if I buy that.[:D][:D][:D][:D]

Holy giant tank Batman! At that price I could problt convince the 'ol lady to let me get the Tamiya. [:D] [:D] [:D]

I want. I want. I want. I want. I want. I want. I want.

BTW: I WANT ONE!!!

Wow! That thing weighs 40 lbs??? Larry, I hope your son is old enough that it don’t outweigh him!!! He’ll get pretty buff just from playing with it… [:D] [;)]

Eric

He’s six and he weighs a little more than the tank. [(-D]

The site? The url is http://www.onsitediecast.com/

The page for Forces of Valor is:

The pre-order special was in an e-mail. I don’t think it’s on the site. You’d probably want to e-mail them and ask about it.

Yeah, even with fifty bucks off it’s a pantload of dough. I’ll be cutting back on my model purchases for a while. Which actually isn’t a bad thing. Better to build what you’ve got in the basement/closet than to just buy more and more.

Hey Larry,

That will make a fantastic gift!
Just remember on Christmas day that it is HIS tank not yours![:D] (I recommend a little pre-Christmas inspection to avoid fights!)
