Very nice!

Regards,

wow, that looks amazing. I really like the natural wood finish on the prop.

Beautiful build. Thanks for sharing.

Well done, thanks for the pics…

Excellent work on the D-VII. I have that same kit almost finished in the same markings.

very nice, so hows the kit? ive been wanting to try it.

It went together pretty well. If I build another one I will glue the engine sides to the fuselage halves rather than the way the instructions suggest. The lozenge fabric and then the rib tapes takes a good while to do. I scanned the plans and then blew them up to fit under the wing to make masking the stripes easier. That method worked for me.

Very nice build!!Love those planes. How did you get the prop looking so real?

Airbrush on Floquil “Depot buff” then dry brush some dark brown. After that is dry 2 dips in Future.

Very nice one of my favorites.

Great looking model…love the color!

Great looking little Fokker, really liked your prop

I’m reading a book called “Duel of Eagles” by Peter Townsend. He talked some about Ernst Udet’s flying days, but mostly of his administrative days. Very cool to see his bird though!

Thanks for the tip, mstanley.I don’t think we have Floquil in Oz but I get the principle.Cheers!

Nice job, I really like the propeller!

Thanks for sharing /Johan

mstanley:
lovely ‘Lo!’…
u did an outstanding job on that kit in 1/48,
i really must build one in these same markings in 1/72…
it is such a great paint scheme !!!
maybe once i finish the 3 Dr.I a/c i’m currently building
‘Schwerin West’ will start producing some more D.VIIs…[:D]

Very nice work … I like it a lot. Can you tell me what your research source was for the nose color? I’ve always seen the Udet D-VII with a full-red fuselage, but I’m always open for more accurate interpretations than what “general concensus” often settles for.

Another good book is Udet’s autobiography, “Ace of the Iron Cross,” obviously published without insights into his suicide.

MBT70:
i’m no expert in these matters, but i believe that Ernst
Udet flew several D.Vii a/c with similar markings …
IIRC, at least one version of ‘Lo!’ has the black cowling…
the all red a/c apparently was very short-lived, Udet only flew it
briefly one summer before it was severely damaged in a dogfight.
so either scheme would b correct…
love that candy striped upper wing, & the taunting
'Du Doch Nicht !" (“Certainly Not You!”) on the tailplane !
i guess w/ 62 victories, u can get away w/ it !

Makes good sense to me … thanks.
