Has anyone ever tried using aluminum foil for seat belts??? I’m trying it right now for the first time… I used 1 strand of fine wire for the seatbelt loop, and put the foilbelt threw it… i think it looks ok!! I’ll post some pics when i’m done…
Hopefully it should be in the hour or sooooo…
i’ve never tried that littlemoe, but i bet it will look pretty neat. waiting on the pics.got all night.
i just have to do some touch up paint… stayed tuned…
hey littlemoe, i was just looking at your profile and see your a machine operator. what kind do you run? i’m the third shift super in a machine shop here in fairfield ohio, we have mostly all mori-seiki cnc machines, and a few old manual machines as well.
ok, here we are…
it’s hard to see details (time for a new digital) but i think you can get the point…
notice the USS Nautilus in the back ground…
hope you enjoy…
comments welcome…

Looks good to me. I’ve used foil for belts in 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft, but haven’t tried it for autos yet…
Murray
that looks really cool, did you say what this was going in?i think i’m going to have to try this[tup]
it’s going in a Fiat Barchetta curb side… i also flocked the floor and door panels …
I ran a 80" Kampf paper slitter, however i just recently lost my job after5 years, (layoffs)
more time to model…

Looks GREAT Ron!!!
What kind of build time do you have in?
Chris
about 2 weeks, no engine detail to slow me up!!! LOL
Thanks for the kind words…
Makes me want to run out and get a curbside…Hmmmm Ill have to put that on the list!
Chris
because there id no engine the details have to be elsewhere, like the interior and the paint job…
hey littlemo, looks great. sorry i lost you last night, a thing like work came up and i had to go.hate when that happens . sorry to hear about your layoff[V]we went through the same stuff here last year, i just got 2 of my guys back in march. hoping we can keep it going[B)], your right about the curbside models, it kind of “makes you” improve your skills in other areas of model building! it also opens your eyes up to some of those places you normaly woudnt go to such extremes. good job. keep up the good work!
Littlemoe,
Cool idea! I was looking for an idea for seat belt material myself, I think I’ll try this. The Fiat looks great!
I hate to hear about your layoff. My father-in-law just got laid off too. He’s having a hard time finding another machinist job, and I think he’s starting to get a little discouraged. Hope you’re having better luck.
