Focke Wulf Fw190D - Airfix 1/72

[:D] Hello friends!

Finally I finished my first aircraft (normally I build armors in 1/35). I hope you like it. I used my own mask instead of decals.

6 Staffel, II Gruppe, JG 26 “Schlageter”, Nordhorn, Germany - Early 1945

Rodolfo

I like it!

Mike

I like the aged look of the paint job

See? Just because a kit is a “1/72 Airfix” DOESN’T mean the finished example has to look bad.

Very nice. (Here’s a pic of mine below- same kit, different markings)

You used you own masks, for a Luftwaffe bird in 1/72? Well done! Looks like a well-worn bird from the time. Only thing I would mention is possibly changing the colors on the prop/spinner, but that is just my opinion. Otherwise, a very sharp build. [^]

[:D] Thanks for your comments and suggestions friends!.

Lucien.- Nice bird!.

Regarding the masks I used " thin Tracing Paper " for plasm of the decals in the paper and finally to cut.

Regards,
Rodolfo

Looks like a nice build. The only thing i would comment on is the weathering on the underside is a tad heavy, but this really doesnt detract from a great build.

Rodolfo, Lucien, both are very very nice builds!!! I have the same kit as well, and hope it comes out as well as bth of yours did!!! I know EXACTLLY what youmean Lucien about the 1/72 Airfix kits, especially the older ones!!! They CAN be made into something special, and both your builds have proven that!!! I have recently completed the venerable Airfix Swordfish kitbashed with the Revell kit and quite happy the way it turned out with a little extra effort!!! Well done to you both!!!

[:D] Thanks for your kind comments friends!.

Lucien, great bird you have done!

Simpilot34, great work too!.

Rodolfo

Fine build and paint job, Rodolfo! The only issue, as others have said, is the prop, which should be RLM70. Note that the blades are made of wood, so don’t, as I have seen done on many occasions, weather them down to the bare metal!

And yet, we shouldn’t forget that for barely £1.00 more, you can get the rather more accurate, and certainly better-detailed, recessed-panel line Academy kit which also, unusually for an Academy kit, has decent decals.

Cheers,

Chris.

Thank you Rodolfo very much!!![#toast]
